Dear friends,
I am facing a problem from this morning. I formatted my drives, removed ME, installed 98 in C: drive. It run ok.
Then I installed ME on D:.
I am not getting the boot screen. The system is directly going to ME.
How can make a boot screen, and choose 98 or ME in the menu.thank you
sree

There is no boot choice or boot menu in either 98 or ME.
Nor any other DOS based OS.

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.

Hi Sree, M2, hello everyone,
You need to get a boot manager.
Here's a link
to a free one.Best Regards,
Mesich

You need a boot manager, but I don't understand why on earth anyone would want to run both systems. Either run ME, or run 98, there is no advantage to having both.

!!!Heh!!! Well, I almost said just that, 'far 's I'm concerned, Me is just more bloatware--no advantage over '98.
The ONLY possible advantage I can see for ME is that when Mikeawroshaft stops supporting '98, ME might have a few years left in 'er.

Hi,
Thanks for your kind advises. But it is very sad to me that there is no boot choice for ME and 98.
Now I installed 98 and 2000 Pro. They are working normally.thank you
sree

You were litle bit hurry with installation of other OS, man. Because it's possible to boot Win 98 and Win ME. Here is solution: Because both Windows 98 OEM and Windows ME look for pre-existing operating systems, Windows 98 retail must be used. If you do not have a retail version of Windows 98, unfortunately, you will not be able to dual boot Windows 98 with Windows ME.
Below are the steps i would recommend be done to dual boot between Windows 98 retail and Windows ME.
Process of Dual booting Windows 98 with Windows ME:
1)It is recommended that at least two partitions be created, one partition for Windows 98 and the other for Windows ME.
I used Acronis Disk Editor 8.0 for it.If the partitions need to be deleted, information about deleting a partition can be found on document which is at http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/ uders guide.2)Once the two partitions have been created, reboot the computer with the windows ME CD in the computer and install Windows ME onto one of the partitions
3)Once windows ME has been installed onto the computer, boot to the Windows 98 CD and install Windows 98 onto the alternate partition.

Also there is a program called mutliboot by Acronis, which allows you to boot more than one OS without any problem. I didn't use it, but you can google for it. Or just visit acronis site.
Hope it helps

Dear cnf,
Thanks for your advice. Now I am going to try your steps.
I will inform you about the progress. Thanks you
sree
