I was wondering if i can dual boot windows 98 SE. Currently I have the english version but for work purposes I need to install another language's win98se. I don't want to re-install and only have the other language so I was wondering if it would be possible to dual boot the both win98se but different languages....if so, could someone be of an assistance and direct me step by step. thank you.

The only way I know to do this is a kludge, but here goes:
1. Install a physically separate HD, Fdisk it and make its primary partition bootable. Then, change the boot order in your BIOS from A C to A D (or whatever this new drive is). Install Windows there. Then, to boot either version of Windows, you have to go through the BIOS change boot sequence option. I have a client who needs to do this very thing. Doesn't much like it but beats the option of having 2 computers networked (with different languages on each).Don

I use system commander at one time it will let you install 4 OS.work great for me but its not free.the are some free programs out there, try a google search, just type boot manager and see what comes up.

here some free ones,
http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/13/4/13-4-14.shtmlor type in (free boot manage) at google search

www.boot-us.com is free for personal use (and very good). Its got tools to hide partitions - if you're putting both 98's on the same disk in different partitions you'll need to hide the current one while you install the second. Also need to hide the first when booting the second (boot-us takes care of this).

XOSL (Extended Operating System Loader) can dual boot multiple installations of Windows. They can either be two partitions on the same drive, or two hard drives. i recommend using three partitions, one for English, one for other language, and one for file storage that can be accessed from either.
Best Luck,
Bob
