I keep losing my internet connection.(DSL) Box pops up saying server has dropped my connection. Then try to connect it is always timed out. Have 30 sec set for time out. sometimes if I reboot it will come back up, but most of time I have to shut computer off an hour or more. Or if I use a dialup connection then connect to dsl it will work but not always. Called tec support and they say everything is looking good on there end. Try resetting modem by turning off 5 min. This does work to get me connected but I still get dropped. Oh yes I can stay at times 1 hour. It also seems if I let it sit for awhile. But always hard to get reconnected. Earlier this week installed BeFaster but to me it did not change anything so removed it. but problems might of started after that, not really sure. I'll could really use any help you might have. And thank you for you help.

You just may have faulty modem. Happened to me with cable modem.
Ask your ISP to replace it.

Are you using a DSL filter (splitter) between the modem and your wall box? If not, you must, and make sure nothing else is connected between the splitter and the wall box. Telephone equipment, fax, answering machine etc. MUST be connected to the 'phone socket on the splitter, as they'll interfere with the high frequency DSL signal, and cause the sort of problems you've been having.

My DSL works the exact opposite. My DSL filters must be on the phone/fax lines, but not the modem. Don't know what it would do it you put one there. ISP told me not to. I think maybe your settings or gateways or maybe your host/domain isn't right. I'd check all that before I call it a faulty modem.
