I have a Win 98 laptop with a small hard drive. When I go into my computer I see a C:\ & a D:\. The C:\ is 1.56 GB and the D:\ is 440 MB. It looks like someone partitioned the drives. Is there any way I can get rid of the D:\ drive so I can have 1 larger hard drive?

If you want to keep C:\ intact, you'll need 3rd party software, like Partition Magic. If you don't care about losing everything on C:\, boot with a Win98 boot floppy and run FDISK to delete the partitions and create a new one.

If you decide to format ... Keep in mind that you 'might' need simultaneous access to a floppy and cdrom drive to reinstall win98.

Just a guess, but does the D: partition contain the .cab files needed to reinstall Win98? If you delete these, you'll need your Win98 CD if you ever want to add new hardware or change configuration.
If the partition contains these .cab files, it would be best to burn them to a CD before deleting the partition. Then do as the first two replies have suggested...either use Partition Magic (or a similar utility) or use fdisk, which will wipe the drive clean.
