Have you tried Google?

You might get more information on this card (to help your search) if you download Everest. This free program gives stacks of info about your system. To find it put "Everest System Information" in Google.

Apparently that card was often used in gateway computers. Gateway has excellent driver support and I've often used their supplied drivers when installing cards in other computers.

The gateway part number for that card should be 6001238. It should have the 1373 chipset on it. Here is gateway's download for the card:

6001238 drivers

Running the downloaded file will install the drivers in a folder with the same name as the downloaded file. That folder will be in a folder named 'cabs'.

The file for 98 is 7510802.exe so after running the downloaded file you will find the drivers in:

c:\cabs\7510802

There will be a setup file there that will install the actual drivers.

Daveincaps,

Thanks for the info, but after I downloaded the file and ran setup, The loading process requested a disk"7510802" and or a nutl16.dll couldnt be found error.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, redownloaded and reinstall, but still the same error. also (loading 18% complete and then it restart my system

If you mean 'clnutil.dll', that file is in:

c:\cabs\7510802\win95

I've used that gateway file to install those cards before and I don't recall having any problems. You should be able to go to START--RUN and browse to c:\cabs\7510802 and then click on the 'setup' file there.

If you still get the missing file error, browse to the c:\cabs\7510802\win95 folder and have it look there for the file.

It may also ask you to insert the 98 cd because it uses drivers from there to set up the game port.

Before doing the installation, if you have any previous sound card installations, go to add/remove programs in control panel and see if you can remove them there.

It would also be a good idea to do a CTRL-ALT-DEL and shut down everything running except explorer. Then try the installation.

Oh, if it asks for the 7510802 disk, click OK. It'll say it can't find whatever file it's looking for and ask where else to look. Browse to the c:\cabs\7510802\win95 folder.

There's also a readme.txt file in the 7510802 folder that may help.

DAVEINCAPS thanks for the assist, everything loaded great.I looked for the correct drivers for that card over a week. How do you find drivers when you need them; Of course there are sites to go to, but what would you suggest.

I usually just examine the card. I look for a model # or the number on the chipset--usually the largest chip on the card. Then I do a google search with that info and add the additional term drivers. Driverguide.com is a good place to find drivers. The google search will usually have links to there.

Cards from Gateway computers always have a gateway part number on them. Using that you can go to their site and find the drivers. As I mentioned above, those drivers will work for other cards with the same chipset even if they didn't come from gateway computers.

You'd expect to get the drivers from creative's site and they might be there. But I've found it difficult to find what I need there and often what they offer are only updates that require you to have the original drivers already.
