Driver Not Loading

I discovered my CD ROM driver is not loading on start-up. BIOS recognises that the CD ROM drives exists but once the computer has started up, then I can't find it anywhere and it doesn't work.
On start-up for 5 seconds the message "ATAPI CD-ROM Driver Not Loaded" flashes after the Windows 95 Loading screen...

Simply reload the CD-ROM burner software. It will reinstall your drivers for you. Sometimes drivers get blown away, due to power surges or other programs. It's no big deal. Just reinstall it. Oh, you may have to uninstall it first. Good luck. HTH

The CD-ROM came with the computer. It didn't come with software except for the like all-inclusive OS. Compaq Quick-restore. I've isntalled it 3 times and it hasn't worked.

Brad..go to www.bootdisk.com and get a Windows 98 boot disk. This will give you the option to load with or without CD rom suport.Choose cdrom support. It will work on Win95 and load the cd driver
