Comment:

hi everybody,
i have posted this problem before, but just to see if anybody has any new ideas.
i have a dual boot with xp and 95
my graphics card is identified by XP as
INTEL(R)82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
according to the manufacturers CD and info at the website, drivers are available only for win98FE and upwards for this graphics card
with XP i am having no problem( getting 24-bit color)

for win95 i am currently using a patched version of the svga driver for wfwg3.11
it is giving me 256 colors at 800x600
it can also be set for 1024x768
in this situation will it be possible to get hicolor or true color with win95, what i mean is are there any generic drivers that i could use.
none of the stuff that come with win95 seems to work

That message 'should normally' refer to a DLL file at the end. If it does, you could 'try' replacing that DLL with a later (Win98FE?) version.

Sorry, I do not check for private messages

the dll involved is ole32.dll
the one which comes with win95 is version 2.1
i downloaded many versions (4.0 and above) from various dll sites but none of them work
i think if i have ole32.dll version below 4.0 and above 2.1 it should work.
if someone has any such file please email it to me

You can download it free from here:

If that doesn't work I can email it to you.
