I had formatted a new HD installed win98se(clean on C:), now when I run ms maint. monitor (defrag) for the D drive I get an warning/error message that says "Drive space assertion error line 222 of module drive.corp", it then terminates the maint. monitor program but I can continue in the windows os. Any ideas would be helpful Thanks.

Hi,

did you format the D drive as well ?? is the D drive a partition of the same physical HD ?? you may need to format the D drive as well, when you format use this command "format c: /u" u stands for unconditionally then all the data from registry will be lost too , before you format either copy everything to C drive or make a backup copy.

good luck

It was a brand new hard drive that did start out formatted and then the info from my old D: drive was copied over. I never had this problem with the same programs on my old hard drive. I have 2gb used and 6gb unused.
