Problem: Under "device manager" my Cd-rom drive letter is listed as the "D" drive and my cd burner is listed as drive "E". However, when I put a cd in what is supposed to be the "D" drive it shows up under "my computer" as being the "E" drive. when I put a cd in what is supposed to be the "E" drive it shows up as being in the "D" drive. What can I do to resolve this issue, as it is affecting my abillity to use the cd burner (they both are reading cd's fine). How can I switch the drive letters when the "device manager" is telling me one thing and "my computer is telling me the opposite about drive letter assignments?

In properties for the drive, on the settings tab, try changing the start and end letters to force letter assignment to match the file list assignment in my computer and/or windows explorer.
Reboot and see how they come up.

IF no joy, try pushing them to completely new letter settings, reboot, then try again for the ones you prefer,

Failing in all that ?
