Downloading MS Office updates

Is there a way to download the MS Office upgrade number 1 and save it to my hard drive.
I have downloaded it a couple of times which takes a really long time and then when it installs, it errors out.
It would be a lot easier to find the reason for the error if I could have access to the file without repeating that lengthy download over and over. Thanks

I have Office 2000 and somehow downloaded and saved Upgrade #2 but cannot do it with Upgrade #1. Don't remember how I did it and of course, Microsoft did not combine the upgrades so you have to install #1 before you can install #2.
