I don't realy know, but it sounds to me like a firewall or virus protection problem. Have you tried downloading the same files on another machine.

It never ceases to puzzle me just why people reformat their drive whenever anything goes wrong. Your problem is obviously not one caused by Windows, but by something that blocks downloads. As Oldhobo suggests, I'd look first at the settings on your virus program to make sure you are not blocking *.exe programs. (I assume that you can download other types of files, and your IE security settings are set to enable downloads.)

Daniel, Look and see if you have this,
Start-Run, type Regedit in box. Look for this and delete the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\+Software\+Microsoft\+Internet Explorer\+Plugins\Extension
Restart computer. Try to download again.
ALLWAYS backup your registry prior to editing.

I don't mean to sound rude, but WHY DID YOU FORMAT your entire drive with just a little problem like that??
anyway go here to fix it, it's probably just some setting on security or virus software but you can override it here:

Ok sorry for the reformating...
I tried download .exe files via a telephone connection, and there I do not have any problems.. (except the time and the cost)
Any idea why this not possible on the cable ?? Help
Daniel
