I've recently got Tomb Raider, the original game which runs under Dos4gw. Although graphically it runs OK on my Win98 system there is no sound. I have a NEC versa laptop using Win98se. Specs are 400mhz Celeron and 32mb ram, Essolo PCI sound, 2.5mb 128bit graphics. System does not have any 3d capabilities but this game does not need that. I've tried all the usual things, booting to Dos, installing Dos drivers for the sound card, boot up disk & editing config.sys and autoexec.bat, running a Dos window, manually setting & auto-detecting sound card settings at install, in-fact everything. Yet there is still no sound!!! I've just about given up, please can someone help. I've been using PC's since the Win 3- Dos 5 days so I know all about command-line parameters and using Dos within Windows. Help!!! (This problem seem's to affect all Dos based games under Win98 except Duke Nukem 3d!!?? Strange!) All Win95 and modern games, (ie Half Life in software graphics mode) run perfectly. Please help.... |
