I am using a dos Dbase handicapping program inside windows. The program printed with my old Canon BJC printer, but will not print on the S400. I updated the drivers with the same results. I have tried the dos program from a MSDOS prompt as well as in windows. I even created another printer version with "print to file". All my attempts failed. When I select print in the dos program, the printer monitor appears and the printer icon shows on the task bar, but the printer remains idle. Would this be a MS Win 98, or a Canon, or the Dos program problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Calvin

I know I stopped writting handicapping programs when Windows became the OS of choice and printers were no longer Dot Matrix or letter quality. I don't have an exact answer to your question, but perhaps a work-around. There is a small progrma called PRT2FILE, I'll send to your email, if you make a request here. What it does, is redirect DOS programs to make a file instead of printing on the printer. My idea is, once you have that text file, you should be able to put it into Notepad/Wordpad and print it from there. Let me know. Sekirt

Thanks for the reply. I've seen that program before and will try it. I also want to try to set up another printer option on Control Panel and set it up with the generic Windows print drivers. I'll leave a followup if any work. Calvin
