Doing a quick restore

I have a compaq computer and I'm doing a quick restore on it to fix a few things. I did what the cd's prompted me to do but it won't exit them! It just sits on the blue screen with red Letters Compaq Quick Restore and doesn't do anything! Rebooting does not help as it just goes back to the same screen. Taking the disks out does not work either! What's wrong?
