I have a friend who was getting a repeated error everytime he closed a window, through another message board he posted this error and was told that the error is caused by some program that records you surfing habits, tracking program of some sort.At any rate he was refered to this site"www.europe.datafellows.com/v-descs/aureate.htm. This site lists dlls that this tracking program installs and suggests that you remove them. here they are
adimage.dll,advert.dll,advpack.dll,amcis.dll,amcis2.dll,amcompt.tlb,amstream.dll,anadsc.ocx,anadsb.ocx,htmdeng.exe,ipcclient.dll,msipcsv.exe,tfde.dll, Of these i have advack,my properties says microsoft 2000 os( i have 98 btw.)amstream.dll ,again its properties says application extensionmicrosoft corp.Name of app. DIRECT SHOW,and finally, amcompat.tlb again properties says win/sys tlb file.2 questions is it safe to delete these, and has anyone heard of this, the web site says you can get them from several things you download ie. getright etc.By the way i am not getting the error described abovei just dont want to delete a necessary file
P.S. sorry about the speach

to get rid of aureate spyware safely go to http://grc.com/defauly.htm for a free prog called optout which will remove that safely. Don't remove dlls yet!
