Gary, You can download ws2_32.dll at the FILE DOWNLOAD link below my name(Homepage:) and it belongs in your C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory(folder). Just go to the FILE DOWNLOAD link and click on DLL's upper left of page, then type ws2_32.dll and select the correct file for your version of Windows which you didn't state in your post.
As far as what to type in the Run box it's "msconfig"(without the quotes). The 3 links below are helpfull as to what should be checked and what is not needed to be checked in your Startup List(msconfig). Hope this helps.

Well MSCONFIG would work if you have added it to your win95, but is actually a win98 app.
Look in start/programs/startup to see what is loading at startup from that access point.
You can delete shortcuts from there by going to " C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp" using windows explorer or my computer. OR move them to another folder in "C:\WINDOWS\Start Menu\" to have them available else where on your start menu.

Other places to look for starups are in the registry if you feel comfortable editing that.
BE SURE TO BACK IT UP BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES.

These are key paths in win 98 registry, win 95 should be similar.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices

BEFORE YOU CHANGE OR DELETE AN ENTRY, EXPORT THE KEY FOR IT SO YOU HAVE AN EASY WAY TO REPLACE IT IF NEEDED.

Gary, You did say you are using Windows 95, sorry about that, my mistake.

Tinkerbong, Good catch on the msconfig not available on Windows 95.

MSCONFIG works fine in Win 95
It's a lot easier than fossicking in the registry if you are not real sure what to do.
Download it from www.surecool.com

Thanks Krystyna
I could remember Msconfig could be downloaded for use in 95, but not the Where,
And surecool didn't come to mind.

BTW, anyone wanting to improve on 95 or 98 defrag, go to www.surecool.com , and get the ME defragger. It's a drop in fix for the old and slow earlier versions.

G'day Tinker
That ME defrag is great - almost makes scandisk and defrag a pleasure !!
And while they're at Surecool, get TweakUI as well
