Im trying to load a older program on my computer that will only work under dos.every time i start the program,it says abnormal program termination:divide overflow and then the program quits.ive tried changing the stack amount and buffers in the config.sys file, but it doesnt help. all i know about the divide overflow is that it has to do with memory. does anyone know how to fix this problem. thank you

Not likelt stacks/buffers.
Probably a corrupt setup.exe [or whatever] or you are getting read errors.
Is this prog on old floppies?
If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.

There's some info here which may help you sort things.
Also, there's a faint remembrance of the SETVER command possibly being used to help in this type of issue, but don't quote me on it. My memory has failed me once, if I remember correctly. ;>)
It's a good day when you learn something
