Ok earlier today when i woke up, i turned on my pc, everything was working fine then after the Microsoft 98 main thing loaded on my screen it said Downloading new hardware for my Monitor so my Screen Area was set to automatically to 640 by 480 pixels. So i right clicked went to properties clicked on Settings i tried changing my screen area but it wouldn't change, then i noticed it said:
Display:
(Unknown Monitor)on RAGELT PRO AGP 2X (English). So i went to Advanced i clicked on Monitor it also said on the side (Unknown Monitor) i went to "Change" i saw a list of monitors, but i dunno which one is mines. Please someone help

The "unknown monitor" specification will not affect your ability to change resolution.

I suspect that your display adapter drivers are corrupted.

Reinstalling them may solve your problem.

You may have them on a diskette or CD that came with the adapter. They are also available at the web site of the adapter manufacturer.

Once you locate the correct drivers, got to “Control Panel”, “System”, “Device Manager”. Select your display adapter and then “Properties”. Select “Driver”, then “Update Driver”.
