Whenever I try to change my color setting to 256 colors, it won't let me. It use to be set on this but now I can't reset to 256. The system locked, then came up in safe mode. I tried reinstalling the video drives, but no luck. It still won't set to 256. Can someone help me, please?

Are you sure the screen area isn't set too high? Try sliding the control back a notch and then choose the 256 or true color if you video card supports it.

Sorry Tracey, forgot to put it. I'm running Windows 98 and yes, I can only get High 16 on colors. When I try to select the 256 it takes me back to High 16. I even tried changing the screen size and still takes me back to the High 16 setting and the 640 x 480 size setting. Thanks.

I have had similar issues in the past and have found if you change the driver (by selecting a different driver, such as the standard vga) reboot the computer and then reinstall your original driver it usually takes care of the problem.
