ok this is really wierd but my screen is too long (as in horezontal) and some of the other monitor settings are all funny too...I have tried using the monitor's controlls (the external ones) and no adjusting at all fixes it, it just makes the problem slightly better (I can only shrink the horizontal soo much). So does anyone have any idea at all what is the problem? Is my video card messing up? (I have a RADEON 7500 64mb AGP btw)

Right click a blank part of your screen and go to> properties> settings> Check the screen area, the numbers should be like 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768. These are 4 to 3 ratios, which normal monitors use. If these numbers don't match, try dragging the indicator to the left or right to change. If they look OK, then click on the Advanced> Adapter. It should say Radeon 7500. If it doesn't, change it to Std. VGA. Then go to add/remove programs in control panel and remove the software for the Radeon. Re-boot and re-install software.

could also be a monitor hardware problem. Try a different resolution.

Possibly the monitor has internal controls that can be tweaked. Mine does. I have drilled holes in my case so I can access them without taking the case off. They are labelled and obvious. It is a second hand monitor that I got cheaply that has problems changing resolutions and has to be tweaked all the time. I wouldn't necessarily recommend that you do this.
If you do take the monitor cover off BEWARE. Monitors have capacitors that can hold a charge for possibly up to days after being unplugged. Touching the wrong part could kill you...no joke. If you are killed then dont come back to me looking for compensation...joke.

ok I cant find my ATI install disk, so is there any other way to fix it also the settings are True Color (32 bit) and 1152 by 864 pixles so that is good as it has been like that for months and no problems till now, I am really starting to think it is a vid card problem but I cant check to see if it is a software prob because of no disk so any other way possible?
