Comment:
When I open a folder from within an application (eg to get a file)I want the setting to give the "details" format. At present none of the possible formats is used (List, details etc).I have tried to fix this following the Help info but doesn't seem to work.
Any suggestions ?It could save me a great deal of unecessary clicking !

I'm not sure myself what details you are trying to display. For instance, in MSWord you open a file by name, which must be unique. Why would you need to know file size, etc.

Open the Folder you want to "Display of folder info" Now Go up to View and click on the Details Tab and it will display the information you want.

Are you saying you don't have the "Views" icon on the toolbar at the top?
Whn you open Windows Explorer, do you have the Standard Toolbar showing? Life is more painless for those who are brainless.
