Display Hangs While Screensaver Active

I am using a Pentium II 233 MHZ with a Diamond Viper V330 AGP Card and Mag Innovision 720V2 Monitor. I leave the system on most of the time, but every two or three days the display will hang while the screensaver is active. The only solution is a hard reboot. If anyone can provide any suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Terry, I'm having a very similar problem involving the same processor and video card. With mine, every so often when the screensaver comes on I get a GPF message involving GDI.exe. I've reloaded the video driver and if this doesn't work, my next step is to try a newer video driver. If I have any success, I'll pass it on. Good luck!

This might be a problem with Win98 itself. Microsoft had info on a problem with the pc being on too long at one time and causing a similar problem which a reboot took care of. I can't remember the exact area on their site I saw it, was a while ago. Check in their search page.

I don't know if it applies to you. but if you have power management turned on in bios and power management turned on in windows then when the screensaver kicks in the machine hangs. dunno why it just does, and it depends on the motherboard. I was told something about the a20 line but fell asleep during the explaination.
