disk drives not appearing

I cannot see any of my disk drives they are not listed in the BIOS even though it is supposed to autodetect. What is wrong? This is on a gateway p5200 (5 yrs)

well just don't expect too much that everything will come out just "RIGHT" for you. anyway you might want to double-check all the cable connections, open up your computer case and check to see if there is anything that's lose especially ide cables connected to the cd-rom and hard drives.

You might also wnat to check your jumper settings on your drives. Make sure you have master and slave on each ide connection. Not two masters or two slaves.
