Hi all.
I have a device driver conflict, which i think is caused by using a more modern graphics card as opposed to the old onboard graphics adpator. I've been searching in BIOS to see if there is an option to disable the onboard card but to say i'm inexperienced in this area is an understatement! I found these possibiities...
Disable onboard FDD Controller
Disable Serial Port 1
Disable Serial Port 2
Disable Video Bios ShadowAre any of those relevant in the slightest?! And if not has anyone any clue as to what i should be looking for? All advice greatfully received!

No. None of those are relevant. It should be refered to as onboard AGP.
Graphics cards are either AGP or PCI.
AGP being the better choice.
If you can't find it in the BIOS. ie; the option may not be there, then it may be a jumper setting on the motherboard, or you may just have to disable it through "Device Manager"
You click on Start/Settings/Control Panel/double click the System Icon and click on the Device Manager tab/ then expand the graphics adapter tree and you should find you onboard video card listed there. Click on properties and down at the lower portion of that box you will see " exists in all hardware profiles" you want to change that to "Do not use this device (disable)" click ok and shut down and make sure you new card is in and the drivers are already installed, and then boot back up.

Modernish motherboards usually automatically disable on board graphics when an agp card is installed it would help if you gave us more informatiobn about your system and its specs etc. You can use a utility such as AIDA32 to tell you this.
