Iv'e tried to disable it, but when I restart Windows, it has it's own pc health scheduled tasks again. How do I permanently disable it?

PC Health doesn't sound like a Windows program. Is this maybe a program you downloaded? To disable it, go to Start>Run, type in
msconfig
Click on the Startup tab. If it's there, uncheck it. You will need to reboot for it to take affect.

Yeah, sure, so actually you are right. But there is a forum for Windows ME in it's own right. I'm sure the guys and gals will be happy to try and help right here but obviously there is a chance that the other forum will have more immediate answers which will help you.

Alan
Hey, stick around these parts and learn something. Here's a few names for a start:
Krystyna
Newgirl
TerriStrictly in alphapbetical order - computers aint just for guys, you are kiddin' yourself.
Your remark is totally unfair

What kind of comment is that Alan?
"Gals helping on a computer forum? I don't think so".
Derek listed a few and I could list many more.
My Doctor is Female!!
I am taking classes on networking, the instructor is Female!
Knows much more than I do on the subject.I have learned many things from many Females on this and other computing forums.
Think you are way off base with you comment.
Mesich

Hey Alan-
You are a complete fool. I'd like to say way more, but Justin would have to delete it...

Here is another gal, my name is Carol. I come here for advice, but I also help. Computer aren't only toys for boys. What should we have a boys forum and a girls forum?

Hey, I realise I sorta started this (and rightly I think) but has anyone any more ideas on Nate's problem - male or female?
He doesn't seem to have posted it on the ME forum so presumably still needs our help. It was a bit sketchy for me.

You are right Derek. The original post was how to Disable Scheduled Tasks!
Here is a link.

Good Day!
Mesich

Alan probably expects us to stay home all day and clean, do laundry, mow grass, shop, fix the plumbing, and prepare dinner too!
A female knowing nothing about computers? Gee. Do the words "Fortran" or "Cobol" mean anything?

Hey Alan, last time I looked I was FEMALE through and through right to the core!! And I been hanging round this board for 2 years now. Some have claimed me as a household name. I have a website for free computer help. My computer knowledge was all self taught!! I can rip 'em down and build 'em up from OEM parts, can you? I can install/configure any hardware or software, what about you? I can trouble shoot and fix by email/phone/instant messenger, can you?
Now as to answer your question:
First ya, some may be able to answer your question about a WinME program here on the Win9x board, but that's only cuz we all (GUYS AND GALS ALIKE) tinker with every operating system we can get our hands on. But you would probably be more likely to get a better, faster response from someone on the WinME forum. That is the purpose of segregating the forums. So we can specialize our help instead of generalizing it. And next time:
THINK BEFORE YOU TYPE, AND IF YOU DON'T WANT ANY GALS TO HELP YOU BETTER SPECIFY YOU ARE A MALE CHAVAUNIST PIG AND WOULD PREFER GALS NOT TO ANSWER!!!!!!
Thank you. I have said my piece. Sorry it took me so long to get here but was too damn hot in computer room till now. Was lounging under ceiling fan in living room.

Alan,
If you think only men can work on computer ,then think again. My daughter [Terri]does all the work on mine.Didn't you ever hear of women going to the service and fighting along side of men or working in the coal mines [maybe not]HUH.Well if you look around you'll find them in all different [FIELDS] of work.Kitty

Well, going back and reading some of these post more carefully:
Jennifer: Alan probably thinks we should all be home [barefoot and pregnant] too!!
As for chores around my house, I don't do mowing grass or yard trimming, I don't do windows, and I don't do laundry. I may help switch a load now and then but that is HUBBY'S job in this house. Holding any household together is TEAMWORK, and my husband tells everyone how proud he is of his wife's computer skills. Especially since I didn't waste a fortune taking classes. And he is very tolerant of my computer time to keep my sites updated. One of my sites is for the union of the company he works for. I host the site and maintain the computers too. So all I can say now Alan is:
Put that in your floppy and format it.

Ok, Justin, just because of my comment, you kick me off of your web site? I'm replying from my friends computer {please don't forbid access to them} I said "Helping on a computer forum" not ANYTHING else. I wasn't meaning anything else. Ok, I'm done. I won't post my comments anymore. Farewell.

Nate
Glad to hear you got your computer fixed and thanks for popping back.
Sorry about the diversion caused by another poster.
Derek

Justin, if you get around to reading this, my feelings are that you shouldn't of banned Alan. He didn't realize there were gals on here too. Most guys do think that computers are a [guy thing]. But us gals just wanted to have our say and sow our oats, so to speak. So if you can find it in your heart, and I know you have a big heart, after all you set up this board and put up with all our dumb stuff on here, can you please reconsider letting Alan post? Or at least put him on probation or something? And no he didn't email me and beg for my help. I just think he deserves a second chance. Us gals took a good nip out of his heels when we had the opportunity. And again Justin, thank you for such a wonderful place to learn and make friends.

Hi Terri, hi all,
>Most guys do think that computers are a
>[guy thing].
Hey Terri, I think you're exaggerating a bit writing that... please don't begin to "insult" any guy!! :-)Terri... of course, my lines above are said with a smile: I would never ever say gals are unable to cope with computers... on the contrary, I give here a hello to you, to Krystyna and to many others who help everyone so well!
Frenchie from Paris, france

Terri, thanks to ask Justin to let Alan post on our forum! very nice to you!
Frenchie from Paris, France

Hi Frenchie,
Well I figure asking Justin to unbann Alan was the least I could do since it was us "gals" that inadvertantly helped him insert foot in mouth before he engaged brain. And I know all us gals were only taking a stand, because face it, we all know that there are times when the gals don't get the recognition that they should. I can't say that for me. I know I do, and I also take my share of lumps too. But all in all, face it, it's still a man's world out there, no matter what a girl is capable of. My last job I was hired into, I was hired so the head presser/cleaner could retire. That was 6 years ago and he hasn't retired. The manager(not the one who hired me), is a chavaunistic you know what. He didn't feel that a female was capable of even trying to run the cleaning machine. So on the days when the other guy took off, he ran it himself. Yesterday was my last day on that job. That along with a few hundred other reasons pushed me to look elsewhere.
And for the record, when I refer to a "guy" or "guy thing", it doesn't mean EVERY guy. Just the basic handful of your every day run of the mill chavaunistics pigs that think women are only good for staying home barefoot and pregnant. My husband used to even belive that when I was married the first time that was how I should be. He knows better now. But anyway Frenchie, thanks for your support of our work here.

Terri,
Thank you for your lines!
I read in a post (to Derek I think), you are beginning a new position on Monday... then good luck Terri!
Frenchie from Paris, France

Thanks Frenchie. And ya you did read it in a post to Derek. We met on here and have become the greatest of friends. Sometimes we don't always email but we always meet at "our place"(Computing.net). In fact most of my friends I have are from Computing.net. Even my mom comes here, I'm sure you've noticed. Anyway, thanks.

Hi Terri,
Yes I know all the family :-) (of course I know about Kitty who posted in this thread and already thru Mother's day and other occasions!). I could see your sites, your computers, your pictures, etc.
I come on Computing.Net since November 21, 2001 (with a period of silence, though) and this site is really great!
Enjoy your day,
Frenchie from Paris, France

I still can't post on this forum from my home. My friends can't post anymore because of me. Every time I post, even if it's a nice thing I say, Justin forbids access to me and my friends. I posted at the place I work, and now they fired me because they can't post thier problems on this damn website because of me. Now I don't have a job, can't post on here, every female hates me, etc...

Over a month, he still won't let me post. But I'll find another way to post. No offense, anyone.
Don't ask me how I got through this time.
