directx certified drivers?

can anybody tell me what im doing wrong?i have a p2 400mhz running win 98.i have the soundblaster live x-gamer sound card and a new elsa gladiac geforce-2 mx..i thought that what i downloaded from the manufacters site of these products would be direct x certified drivers but when i run the dx diag.it says that the drivers for both of these are not certified..also the driver i just got from nvidia is the new detonator driver 4.13.01.2181....shouldnt it be certified?can i get one that will show certified if this one isnt?where?what one?also a friend of mine has the same sound card and his says certified-yes-when running dx.diag.i just got the new sub-command simulation and it came with direct x 8 which was installed and im having problems running it and all i can figure out from the help file is that my drivers arent dx certified????please can somebody help me????

It really 'matters not'. Probably Microsoft just hasn't gotten around to certifying them yet. Certification doesn't really mean much anyway.

A WHQL certified driver only indicates it's been approved by Microsoft (and they always require that the tweak options be removed.) - So, no the nVidia drivers won't always be certified.
For what it's worth - I've never seen a certified Creative Labs driver - I don't think they really care what MS thinks.
Summary: This is probably stupid but I'm going to ask it anyway, can somebody explain the difference between a 'normal' driver & a certified driver? Thanks, ...
