DirectX and Video Problem! Not Reading AGP

Hi. Just recently I bought a new motherboard that had the SiS 530 video card with it. It was working fine until a few days ago when suddenly, my computer (DirectX 8 diagnosis & all my games) said that I didn't have a sufficient 3D Video card and that it was not AGP or D3D compatable. Why? Can anyone please help out here? My computer is usless now.

I already did. I updated the SiS 530 Driver and my Bios, still no cigar.

I had the same problem.I reformatted my harddrive and reinstalled all my software. Then I installed directx 7a which works fine.

MS removed support for the SIS530 from DX8. Best bet is to use DX7a until SIS decides to update their drivers. Some SIS530 motherboards have a jumper to turn off the 530 and let you use a PCI card, however, most do not and at best u have 2 use a duel display system. I have been told that if you can disable the onboard 530, the motherboards become much faster. I can't find SIS530 chip pinouts anywhere to see what pin I need to solder to disable it 4 good. -Night
