I installed MIXMAN but I have DirectDraw fails.
I installed DARKREIGN and I have DirectDraw fails.
What's the problem?...DirectX?...incompatible Direct and my Trident?
I have some "uncertified files by the Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs":
framebuf.drv, msjstick.drv, sb16snd.drv, sbawe32.drv, sbfm.drv, supervga.drv, vga.drv, sb16.vxd
What I have to do?...go to Microsoft and download updated files...what files?
download updated trident drivers?
download another version of direct?
download Windows 98?...
Win98 is better than Win95?...I guess...Thanx! ;)
You have a Tridenr 9440? I'm having problems with diectX and trident drivers. download new soundblaster drivers to fix part of the problem, and my advice is get a new video card, trident sucks and I'm going out of my mind trying to get Mercenaries to work with it! Good luck Jake.

Ah the wonders of the Internet !
I've just bought (2nd April 1999), Quest For Glory 5 and the game won't run at all. Having tried the directX diagnostic, I get a list of "uncertified" files. An Internet search on "framebuf.drv" brought me to your query of last November which, surprise surprise, looks almost exactly like mine. At the time you seemed to suspect your Trident video card - mine's an ATI Rage - but I still get the same failure messages (with different driver names). How did you resolve your problems? Please don't tell me I've got to get Win98 just to play this stupid game...Thanks,

Hi Guys.
I have windows 98 and I'm still getting problems with my DirectDraw! I get the same "Uncertified" messages as you, Les. I can't play Baldur's Gate anymore and i'm on the last chapter!!! :(
It keeps telling me "Beta DirectDraw Expired. Please Update." What the hell am i supposed to do? I've reinstaled dx6 then dx5 then my videocards driver and NOTHING WORKS! MSN was about as helpful as a brickwall! No one I've talked to knows what to do. If it helps any, I'm running a Diamond Monster Voodoo2. I also checked out Diamonds site and that lead to nothing too...AARRGG

Yay, some other people are also as angry as me! I have a 32mb Diamond Viper card, and my computer keeps on resetting. Needless to say the amount of profanities and PC rage in my household is enormous. I am now downloading direct x 7....

I have the same problem.My Videocard(Diamond Viper 550)is uncertified. I can play Fifa 2000 only in rendering modus if i change it in Hardware accleration a white display ís in the game.

Nobody knows what's "Beta DirectDraw expired, please update" means?
I have a TNT Riva and it works but this message appears all the time when I start games or real player.

Change your Clock back like 5 years and it works fine. I Have Directx 8 Yes 8 i know its not released but i downloaded it off some guys home page and it says "Beta DirectDraw expired, please update" god dammit! i cant update it becuase it is the newest damn one!!ARRRGGGG!!

Okay...i'm looking for some answers here. i have TNT2 card and i get the same 'Directdraw
has expired , please update' message. and i also have directx 8 ...i don't know where i got it from....must have been one of them newer games. that means i can't update the damn thing.

Ok, now I'm pissed. For the past week I've been getting error messages reading Beta DirectDraw Expired, and a DirectX error message. I'm supposed to update them. I have the newest DirectX 8.0. It doesn't seem to help my situation. Now what? Please help.
