Recently, I reinstalled Windows 98SE on a friend's computer, and ever since then dial-up connection won't store his password. The box that you check to store the password is grayed out. How can I get it to store the password?

Could do with more info!!!! But here goes.. Does he log on with a windows password, if he does make sure you set the dail-up connection under his log in name. If he presses cancel at the windows log screen it will grey out the check box. I suggest you delete all dail up settings, make him log on as a user, restart the system. Enter the user name and password, re-enter dail up settings. This should resolve the problem. But he must use his log-in name and password every time.
