when i am running windows, every time i try to open a folder, the dial up connection box pops up even though i am not attempting to get on the internet. for example: when i try to open c:\ , the dial up connection box pops up, when i try to open program files, the d.u.c. box pops up, etc. it pops up constantly with every folder i try to open in windows when i don't want to connect to the internet. can anyone please tell me how to fix this?

click on start > settings > control panel > double click on internet options > click on the connections tab > for whatever connections are under dial-up and virtual private network settings make sure to put it on "Never Dial A Connection" right below it, you can do this by clicking on the connection once and then changing it to "Never Dial A Connection" and do this to all of your connections
note: this will disable the autodial feature -bishopru
