When trying to connect to the internet via a dial up connection, I connect but am then kicked off with an error message that says:Dial up adadpter is not responding or not installed..???Ive tried every trick I know, uninstalling dial up net. all the network settings, but still get the same message every time..Im running Win98A, Could it be that some of the windows files are corrupted???Please Help...

I had the same problem for a while. When I'd try to use the normal dial up connection in the "My Computer", "Dial Up Networking" folder, it wouldn't connect properly. This happened after I upgraded to the new MSN software with the butterfly logo. I couldn't re-install the older MSN software that had worked (it refused) so I simply switched to the dial up connection in IE5. Click the "Tools" menu, then the "Internet Options" tab, then the "Connections" tab, choose the correct "dial up setting", then click the "Always dial the default connection".
Then try running IE5. If all works correctly, IE5 will connect to your ISP itself.
It worked for me. Hopefully your problem is similar to mine.
