In device manager i have a? mark in other deviceson pci serial controller what affests does that cause on my pc .because i have no sound on my games played from cd rom

Aside from when you're playing games on CDROM, does your PC's sound work ok?

PCI serial controller is your modem.

Can you play audio cd`s?

If not i`d say the connnecting lead from your cd rom drive to your sound card is either missing, faulty or become disconnected
