Dear reader,
in my device manager I have an "unknown device" under USB with an exclamation mark next to it. Also, I can't find any "other devices" entry, which I believe should be there, right?
I am trying to install an external CD-Rom drive via the USB port, but the computer (WIN 98SE) won't recognize the drivers. I figured the above irregularities (?) could be the cause for such failure.
Also, I have only about 300MB left on the hard disk, although on the drive manual it says it needs only 64MB free.
Any help is extremely appreciated!!!

Has the USB driver been installed on your machine? Go to the motherboard's manufacturer's site and download the drivers.

Do you have USB enabled in the bios?
