I built this computer a few years back. i've actually had this problem for a long time. Kinda just bought a new computer instead of fixing it. but i'd like to fix it now. Its been too long to remember what I was doing before the error occurred, but the problem I am having is this: Before the desktop loads i am getting the error messege rpcss has caused an invalid page fault in module msafd.dll. with this messege it gives me the option too close. so I do. Ok soon as I close the message turns chronic and shows the same thing over and over. never loading my desktop never letting me do anything. I tried working in safe mode also but the same deal nothing. also I'd like to see if its possible just to put the windows 98 se disk and run through it again somehow. but of course for some reason my A:/ drive isnt working. so if yuou guys know some magic and like to help by swinging your wands lol i'd appreciate the **** out of it . i've been using this site for quite some time i'm not a complete idiot :)but I did do a search on this and couldnt find a solution specific to my problem so please dont send me links to others because I'VE READ EM ALL LOl really if you know what s going on i'll love ya if you help me lol thanks, Brent

Computars are tha devil. Seem to draw me in like a seizure

If you have a win98se CD, you could boot from it and do a reinstall `on top'.

in case you dont have the cd, boot into command prompt (as safe mode is also not working) and look in C:\windows\options\cab
do u find a file setup.exe there?
if so you can do the install on top from there itself.
post back in any case - if you have the cd or if the setup files are present on the HD.
