desktop link does not work after saved email file

I use Windows 95, and when I send a file to someone who has Windows 98 installed and he puts the file from his email programma in a map (can’t check if he does this right) then - the link from his desktop to start the programm in that map (another file then I had send him) does not work anymore. How could that be?
