Downloaded a file from the internet on to desktop, now it will not delete. It has no name, no properties, when you open it it opens in internet explorer with the address c:\windows\system\shdoclc.dll.

It comes up has a system folder and can not be deleted.

Reply:

Try rebooting your system in Ms-DOS Mode
Go to C:\WINDOWS\DESKTOP\ and delete the file
del .
Normally this should work. If the system tells you its write protected or so, remove the protection first
attrib -r -h then delete it
