Folers I created and stored informtion into will not open when I click on them. The error msg I receive is: Explorer caused invalid page fault in module MSHTML.DLL at 016F:7aelfe3b. Please tell me what this means and how I can correct the problem in order to open my files. Thank you ( It also happens when I create a new folder)

The only 2 things I can think of is either
you recently installed an application
that corrupted some of your files or you
turned off your computer without Shutting
Down. In any event, I have this file and
you can mail me at the address above and
I will send you it.Hope I can help you.

Here's the only article I could find having to do with explorer and mshtml.dll. But it doesn't seem to be your exact problem...
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q175/3/79.asp
What did you do on your computer right before the problem started?
Did you change a setting, install software or hardware, have a crash?

First, try running scandisk. Then, search for the file winfile.exe and open it.
This is another way of accessing the files and folders on your drive. See if you can access that folder via this route (it will be at c:\windows\desktop\(folder name).
If not, you'll need to continue in the direction the above folks are suggesting.

Don, I only started up the computer and clicked on a folder I created and received the error message. I also clicked on system folders on desktop and also get the same errors. I can activate some of the files when I go into windows explorer and click on folder then some of the the things will let me see them andm some still have same message.

Three things I would try here, first the version of mshtml must be consistent with IE, so if you have the Repair Tool available, I would run that to see if it sheds any light. Two, you can also try running sfc (system file checker) for what it's worth.
Third, (maybe first), I would boot to a command prompt and enter
scanreg /restore
and choose a prior "started" registry.
Undetected registry damage is often the case when sudden unexplained problems occur.

I didn't find your exact problem in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
rk has good ideas. Do the last one first.Reboot your computer and hold the Crtl key down until the BootUp Menu appears (F8 key if Windows95), choose to start with Command Prompt Only, type in scanreg /restore and press Enter. Select a date that predates the problem. Reboot. If not fixed, do the next thing.
If you have the lastest Internet Explorer it has a repair feature...
Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, scroll down and select Microsoft Internet Explorer and Internet Tools. Click Add/Remove and from the choices pick Repair Internet Explorer, click OK.Run System File Checker...
Start>Run, type in sfc and click OK, use Scan For Altered Files, click OK. If it finds altered files, let it replace them and save the old files to a folder. (98 has this for sure but I can't remember if 95 does.)(SFC needs to be pointed to your Windows installation files, either your Windows Installation CD or CAB files on the hard drive.)Good luck. Ask more questions if necessary.
