If it's like my GXM 5133 there's a password jumper on the edge of the motherboard. Remove it, and the password stuff is gone. Replace it after you install the new password.

I have a Dell Latitude XPiCD 150MMX.
I have searched everywhere for a jumper but I can't find it.I know that Award (has) works(-ed) with "Hello!" (case sensitive, whith !!!).
Isn't there anyone who knows what Dell uses?

Hey,..it didn't work for "TANDY" or "IBM".
Is DELL "TRYING" to KILL all future SALES?
------------------------------------------
What the HELL does DELL get off trying to
keep everything you need to know, available
only to those people (or whatever)in some
sort of secret "DELL Super Society Club".
Come on DELL. SHARE a little INFORMATION!!!
SOONER or LATER,.... WE'LL FIND OUT ANYWAY!

I received the laptop from a collegue who got kick out and this guy put a password on a Dell Laptop LM-133ST and now I can't get in. I have mailed DELL but nothing yet?

N.O.O.A.D.P. = Non Original Owners Against Dell Password.
Hi , I found this program called "KillerCmos32" but it only work when you are inside windows, DAMN for a second I though that I've found the answer to all our password problem.
Well... Keep Trying and "DON'T GIVE UP"

I am as frustrated as you all are! I have a latitude XPi CD and bios password. All cracks I can find need to be run in Windows or Dos...great how the fuck do you get there to run them? Please help, need password or utility to crack this damn thing.

I owned a dell latitude cpi 300 laptop and a phoenix bios. Dell would not give the primary or administrative password and said there is no way around it but I found a way within a hour without have to even put in a password or opening up the computer or even clearing the CMOS. for more info email me at ajan8@mytalk.com

If you have this prob, DO NOT upgrade your BIOS in an attempt to solve this. I had BIOS A02, and I could get it to boot by puuting a floppy in the drive and holding down ESC until it booted I then flashed the BIOS to try and get rid of the password but now it won't boot at all... this sucks!

I messed around with my latitude closed jumper j2 (jclear) left battery unplugged for a week and when i restarted machine with battery plugged in again it made a whole lot of buzzing noises and asked me to press Fn and X to reset machine. I didn't have the keyboard plugged in (was using an external PS2!) and couldn't do it, and now can't get it to do it again...perhaps got to wait another week??? try this I'm sure someone else can get this to work. Also someone suggested using a newly formatted floppy with the first three bytes of sector 1 changed to 4B 45 59 will unlock the password - this doesn't work - but it was in the drive when I got the Fn and X thing....

I had the same problem with a lattitude 433c.I called Dell tech support - no help whatsoever. Then i came accross a small 7k program called killcmos
once run this defaults the bios = NO PASSWORD
if anyone would like a copy please e mail me

Hey guys, calm down. Dell will happily give you the password if you re-register the machine in your name. There is a form available through either their Website or Faxback service to accomplish a change in ownership. A copy of the Sales receipt will be required at minimum as will other additional documentation in some cases. Notebooks are stolen frequently and Dell is merely attempting to protect the interests of the "owners of record". If you've purchased the notebook legitimately, have records to back your claim and the notebook wasn't reported as stolen by the original owner, Dell is willing to work with you.
If you had purchased a notebook directly from Dell and a thief called Dell for the password, would YOU want Dell to give it to just anyone?
A BIOS level password is the final defense against notebook theft because it makes the machine unusable. All you have to do is provide documentation that your purchase was demonstrably legitimate and Dell will help you.

Well maybe we need to send dell some enails
maybe if they get enough :) they may help
have they heard of auctions NOOADP

After 1 hour on hold with dell
i could not get them to release the master password you must register the laptop,
what about people like me who buy busted
laptops from ebay to repair. your not going
to go through the hassel of registering
a busted laptop. BOYCOT DELL
every one email them. i will figure it out
and be back.

Dell lat d266xt cpi !
I promise i will find a way to trespass the password !
The bad thing is the pass in not kept in cmos and is no need to have battery so the reset proces must be with laptop power on bat is very risky !
I will find the flash chip and i will try to remove temporary from mother board !
Can be another method for programators only
how can download the upgrade bios from dell site and to decompile it phoenix bios !

I have a Latitude CPI R
With the same problem as everyone on this page. If you have any clue let me know ok.Thanks
ROD

I have a dell lattitude cpi A series.
Bios A08, PII. I bought it with a bios password on it. I have been to hell and back trying to crack through the system. Is there a universal password to crack it or you have to run this eeprom program. can someone clarify that for me. If anyone can crack this bios password they will be doing this whole world a great favor. and please I don't want to hear from these morally sick people who think what we are doing is wrong. there are greater problems in this world to worry about than how wrong it is to buy a stolen note book.

Dudes, I have downloaded the Asset tool that dell use from http://www.esiea.fr/public_html/Christophe.GRENIER/ but it don't work. However Toshiba use a dongle and the plan on this page does work as I use toshibas as well. Does anybody know if Dell do the same. I really need to get some data of a laptop that I have and some stupid twat has put a power on password and he suddenly forgot what it was. Always the way. So if anybody can help let me know. I ahve lots of software I can swap for the advice. Cheers
Bond

Yeah, I tried the asset tool on my CPi and found it don't work! There must be a program out there for CPi's!!
Big reward for a password that works!Secret Squirrel

The chip that needs flashing is an AMD AM29F002T-120JC. This needs an EEPROM programmer - maybe someone who understands these things can have a look at this chip and tell us how to get the password off??
What if we reset the chip - pin1 is reset, if we connect this to a voltage what will that do???

I have a CPi D266XT and I found out how to bypass the password.. at least to boot to DOS. This may help us with password extracting utilities..
Put in the floppy drive and insert a DOS bootdisk. Then HOLD down the ESC key. Press the power button. Continue to hold the ESC key.. as the little progress bar goes across, near the end it will beep a few times.. then the screen should flash and skip the password screen. Depending how yours is configured, it will attempt to boot from the HDD or the Floppy. Mine, happens to also have a HDD password on it, so I just simply removed the HDD. Then it lets me get to a DOS prompt.
If this works for anyone else, let me know.. also, if anyone finds a DOS utility that can successfully extract the password info, let me know. I'm thinking if we knew the address area or whatever of it, we could use DEBUG to read it out.. might it be stored somewhere like (24c02)?

Please try:

May need to be in caps. Please E-mail me if this works.

I know Dell`s master password
###########################################
Now i know that most of u guys wanting the password have stolen laptops that u want 2 unlock and those stupid phucks @ Dell f--- u aroud like f---ing around is going out of fashion. So can i just say now f--- DELL!
ok i am prepared to swap the password to any interested parties for any information on TEMPEST, EMC, the NSA, Echelon, or copies of specialist software, cable modem hacking, setting up your own ADSL connection.Email if interested
###########################################

My friend just unlocked a dell latitude cs with a master password and I will post it
for all interested parties in a day or two. F-dell!!!! F-dell!!!! F-dell!!!! F-dell!!!!don't bother sending email- it's fake

I can tell you all that I know for a fact that there is no 'Master password'.
All dell machines have an override password but this is different for all machines.
This password is worked out from the system service tag number on the bottom of the machine. There may possibly be a program on the net which can give you this password if you type in your tag number.
Have fun

Bah, anyone got any idea if the Dell BIOS supports a CD drive?....if it does then i'm havin' trouble with mine!

So I take it no one has yet crashed a Dell Latitude successfully?
Well I am experiencing the same type of issues, and will get back with the results
Lessthan
