while surfing sex dialer programs 'india' and 'pleasure2' installed itself. by reading messages on this subject removed icons from startup and desktop by restarting in msdos/safe mode. however instal.exe and uninstal.ese files of the programme are not deleted even in dos, but the icons in startup appear again. can someone help.

G'day Rathi, have a look in the Downloaded Program Files folder and see what's there, this is where some things get installed like some versions of Shockwave. If you see any resemblence to the programs you mentioned you should be able to uninstall [delete] them from there.

Windows 98? Try restoring the registry to the day before the infection. Restart to dos mode, type the following and press enter:

scanreg /restore

Then choose a copy dated the day before the infection and restore it. Then after doing so try deleting the files you mentioned.

This happens to me all the time with this sexdialer. Only it is because my husband and son try to view some video for free. It always comes with the add: free sex movies. So it ends up on my computers.
Most times you will find the program in your control panel/add remove programs. It sets itself up as a program in program files. If you can't unistall it from there, do a cont+alt+del to make sure it is not running in the background, then go to:
start/find/files and type the name in and just delete all the related stuff it brings up in the results box.
