My son deleted some windows files, one of which is rundll32.exe. It won't boot except in safe mode, and the cd rom isn't recognized so I can't reinstall with the cd. I have tried making floppy boot disks but it won't boot from them. It either says non system disk error, or it just does nothing. I have also tried downloading and copying the rundll file to the system32 folder, but that doesn't work either. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If your boot floppy is no good, you need to get a boot floppy maker here:

www.bootdisk.com

If you have a know-good boot floppy [boots OK in another box] you may need to get a floppy "drive cleaner disk" and clean the drive.

If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.

I believe that file belongs in:
C:\Windows

Yep, get a Win98 boot floppy with CD support from www.bootdisk.com

Don't hesitate sekirt, rundll32.exe most definitely does belong there and not in system32.

It will just ignore the file if mislocated.
