Delete vs Uninstall

If you no longer need a program, is it better to eliminate the program by delete or uninstalling, providing the program has an uninstall capability?

Definitely use the unintall if available. Then you can go through your registry for anything left over.

Yes, uninstall and then check for folders that weren't removed and delete them. It's pretty common for uninstalls to leave stuff.

Uninstall. Then use RegCleaner to get rid of any remnants in the registry.

In fact, many program put files all over your hard drive - unless you had a list, you could never find them to delete them. That's one good reason for using an uninstall. Another is the fact that Windows doesn't like you to delete - it wants to know what is going on.
You can also use control panel add/remove programs if there is no uninstall with the program.
