Wondering if it is safe to delete Temporary Internet Files in:
C, Windows, Temporary Internet Files folder
Thank You

Quite safe and a darned good idea. They are the guff from websites you've visited (plus cookies) and can slow things down.
You can also do it the MS way from IE Tools/Internet Options/General which might retain some useful cookies.

Someone recently recommended "crap cleaner"...I tried it & couldn't believe all the crap I had. I thought I kept things pretty tidy as I regularly dump temp files, temp internet files, history, etc....but there's a LOT of other useless crap that can be dumped too. This will find it all:

Yes, i think keeping the internet cache clean is always a good idea. Another excellent way to do this is to use the small freeware called X-Cleaner. It cleans out the temporary internet files (the "cache", including the index), the cookies and even the history if you want it to (it will remember your settings). It also scans your system for spywares and trojans. All that is very quick and can be used as often as you like. Find X-Cleaner Free in the Security section of my Windows 95 page.

Or put this line in autoexec.bat :
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\DELTREE.exe /Y C:\WINDOWS\LOCALS~1\TEMPOR~1Best

I use Xen, freeware, can be found at http://www.x9000.net/ it has a small footprint, and is a good cleaning utility. One word of caution, you have the ability to delete other things also, so even though it suggests/recomends deletion, be sure you know exactly what you are deleting, because once it is gone, it is gone. It has the ability to delete some of Windows functions, sounds, and other things, so be aware of what you chose to delete, because as stated above, once gone, it`s gone. The way I approach using it is if I question whether I should delete or not, I do not, untill I research further.

Or put this line in autoexec.bat :
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\DELTREE.exe /Y C:\WINDOWS\TEMPOR~1
C:\WINDOWS\TEMPOR~1\CONTENT.IE5
C:\WINDOWS\TEMPOR~1\CONTENT.IE5\INDEX.DAT
