Comment:

system command 'del c:\temp\*.* /q' works fine on on winNT. But Windows 98 does recognize the /q switch. Does anyone know what switch to use with del in the windows 95/98 environment which allows delete without asking for confirmation when using wildcards?

Thanks
Ram

You can get the options for any dos command by entering the command followed by /?
del /?

Thanks to Derek and the other person who responded. For some reason windows 98 does not recognise del *.*;y

I ended up using
echo y | del *.*

This is working both on 98 and NT
