A rather bizarre problem has arisen in Windows Media Player, and I haven't installed any programs of late that could've caused it. Whenever I play an MPG, AVI, whatever in Windows media Player, it plays... pauses for half a second, then continues to play. This happens no matter where I start playing the vid, it always plays the first 1/2 second, pauses for the rest of the second, then continues as normal. I run my movies (small & large) through both 6.4 & 7.1. The same problem with both. It doesn't matter where you Pause n' scroll the movie to... when you press Play again, it'll run, pause, then run smoothly again. Can anyone think of a reason why it's doing this? I've tried re-installing Media Player & DirectX 8.1, but no effect. thanks in advance

Maybe WMP hasn't got enough memory to do it quickly, or from display card...?

I don't think so because it just started to do so recently, before it didn't happen. But I am sure I did not install anything new. Does anyone have another idea on what may be causing this annoying problem ? Thanks
