Are you running defrag in Windows? Try starting Windows in safe mode and then run defrag. The reason it never stops is because other programs are writing to the disk during defragmentation and that interrupts the process

another possibility is it decovers removed software that is still listed in thr registry and then starts over. just let it go - it will take a long time.

I have been tried to find C:\Defragmentation in MyComputer (Icon), but it does not show on Properties. My PC is very slow, it says it need Defragmentation.

I have defragmented and have an awful lot of boxes of 'data cannot be moved'. I have heard that this is not good. Why and what can I do about it. Thanks.

A response to response 6. Disc defragmention is a utility program that you install on your hard drive ,or sometimes it comes with your computer, that orgenizes all the informations that you have on your C drive and or D drive and puts them in order and eliminates all the empty blocks ,therefor speeds up your computer performance.
