When my Task Scheduler tries running Defrag i come back to see it saying it can't defrag because of error: DEFRAG004

help pleaz.

Do you have any antivirus or other apps running in the background when taskschedular tries to defrag?

Can you defrag successfully from safe mode?

I believe this is because Disk Management SW loading in the MBR (master boot record). Did you install a hard drive that required you to use that mfg's diskette due to a problem with your BIOS not supporting a drive that's too large? I know this is a late post, but this site shows up in search engines.
