If your company is doing something to set the homepage, it sounds like they are locking YOU out.

There is way around it, sort of. Go to the page you want as you homepage, then right click in the page background and click "Create Shortcut".

This makes a shortcut on the Desktop, you can use that icon to start your browser instead of the regular icon.

what it is is that i work at a library and am incharge of keeping the computers upto date and running and when ever i go to the childrens computer the home page has been switched. i guess the kids go to a web site and it asks them if they want to make it their home page and they click ok. i hate having to go back every other day and change the home page back to what it should be. is there a way to lock it?

Yes, this can be done - but, you need to get a copy of the Internet Explorer Admin Kit (from Microsoft).
