I took my computer in to a shop and had a new hard drive installed. The tech. (without my OK) then updated per 'Windows Update' and installed DirectX Version 9. My computer is older and the video drivers have not been updated for several years by the mfg. I really should not have gone beyond version 7.1. Now, I am getting all kinds of DDHelp warnings as they relate to my video cards. (NV4DD32.DLL warnings). Is there any way at all to uninstall version 9 so I can go back?

Direct X buster may help you but if it fails you will have to reinstall Windows like Microsoft has always recommended in this case.It is worth a try considering the amount of work devoted to a full setup with drivers and programs. http://www.dxbuster.de/index_e.html The technician was an amateur and a poorly informed one. This is unfortunate considering the money being charged to you for the job.DirectX 9 for Windows XP is for recent computers with a fast video card Nvidia type. Good luck.
