I am trying to install the SR1.a to my Office 2000 programs and during the install it says it needs the data1.msi file from Office 2000 Small Business CD. Unfortunetly I lost that CD ages ago. Is there any way I can get a copy to use? Thanks for your help V

Watch updates to Office unless you have a registered copy of the CD. They have a knack of disabling your program after 30 tries or so. If you have a reg version then fine, otherwise do you really need the update?

I think I need the update because my MicroSoft Word isn't working well (It is a registered version that I got with MicroSoft Works Suite but the data1.msi file from that doesn't seem to want to work)Maybe the update isn't my problem but I don't know. Word freezes whenever I try to open a template and sometimes when I open a document. This just started recently. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it didn't help. Any suggestions? Thanks V

Big file if I remember correctly. There's a lot of stuff about it if you go to Google and type the filename, though whether it will help or not is debateable. I get the feeling you have to use exactly the right version. If you are on W98 you could always try "shutting down" to DOS and typing: scanreg /fix (then hit Return). When it's finished type exit then hit Return to restart Windows. This could help if there is a "general" registry problem and cannot do any harm. I'm not confident that it will cure this problem though. Word usually works fine without the update by the way. Sorry I can't help any further.
