We have a Seagate Scorpion DAT drive, model no STD28000N-SB which we want to use to recover data from backup sets created under win 98 (we recently changed from 98 to NT os for our network computers, but no one told us about the NTFS v FAT incompatability!). We do however have a stand-alone win 95 machine, so we tought we could hook the tape drive up to that, but oh no it does not appear to be as simple as that as it would appear that Win 95 will not support DAT drives. Is this correct. I have tried the Segate site for a driver, but they make some comment about win 95 applets that is way over my head. I should point out that we did not receive any segate backup software with the drive when first purchaeds. Can anyone shed some light on this please?
